Deborah A. Bailey-Wells
1958-2007

Deborah A. Bailey-Wells passed away on December 12, 2007, at the age of 49. Deborah, affectionately known as Deb to many of her friends and colleagues, practiced patent and trademark law in the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis.

Deborah was also a past president of SFIPLA from 1997-1998. Her involvement and participation with SFIPLA as an officer and a devoted member helped shape the organization into what it is today. In addition to her participation in SFIPLA, one of Deborah's proudest accomplishments was starting up the Women's Intellectual Property Lawyers Association, a place for young women lawyers to find strength and support in their chosen field.

Deborah is survived by her daughter Alexandra Bailey-Wells, 20, of Santa Cruz ; her father, Kenneth Bailey, of Edmonton , Canada ; her mother, Ramelle Irish; her brother Kenneth Bailey Jr., of Leavenworth , Wash. ; and her ex-husband, David Wells, of Placerville .

Memorials can be made to the Alexandra Bailey-Wells Education Fund, P.O. Box 954, Moss Beach, CA 94038, or to Larkin Street Youth Services at www.larkinstreetyouth.org .
